Atiku Abubakar says he’s building a strong coalition with Peter Obi, El-Rufai, and others to challenge President Tinubu and “rescue Nigeria” in 2027.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar says he is building a strong and united opposition coalition to challenge what he described as the excesses of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Writing on his Facebook page, the former PDP presidential candidate said the alliance aims to “rescue Nigeria” and protect the democratic rights of citizens.
“We are building a strong, united opposition coalition — one that will challenge the excesses of this administration, restore accountability, and return government to the people,” Atiku said.
“We will protect the right of every Nigerian to freely choose their leaders… We are here to rescue Nigeria.”
The coalition reportedly includes Peter Obi, Nasir El-Rufai, Rotimi Amaechi, and other political stakeholders.
A few weeks ago, the group held a closed-door meeting to strengthen their alliance ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking afterward, El-Rufai said the coalition’s goal is to defeat Tinubu and “return him to Lagos” after one term in office.
