Strike on Germany possible if Taurus missiles hit Moscow – RT Chief

German personnel would likely be involved in programming and launching the missiles as “Ukrainians cannot maintain or program ‘the Taurus’ for flight missions.”

RT Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan has warned that Russia may strike Berlin if German troops assist Ukraine in targeting Moscow using German-supplied Taurus missiles.

Her statement followed German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s remarks suggesting Berlin and its allies had lifted range restrictions on Western weapons Ukraine could use.

Though no official decision has been made on delivering the Taurus missile system, capable of reaching up to 500km, Simonyan issued a grave warning on Telegram Wednesday: “In Moscow offices, it is being discussed that if German troops strike Moscow with German weapons… the only option left for us is to strike Berlin.”

She asserted that German personnel would likely be involved in programming and launching the missiles: “Ukrainians cannot maintain or program [the Taurus] for flight missions.”

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov echoed the concern, saying if Germany lifted such restrictions, it would lead to “serious escalation.”

Germany had previously declined to send Taurus missiles under ex-Chancellor Scholz due to fears of direct conflict with Russia.
