IPMAN spokesperson added that petrol consumption is expected to rise as prices fall, due to increased affordability.
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has projected that the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) could drop to N800 per litre in the coming days.
Speaking to DAILY POST, IPMAN spokesperson Chinedu Ukadike attributed the anticipated drop to partnerships between marketers and Dangote Refinery, which has already led to a fall in retail prices to between N875 and N910 per litre in Lagos and Abuja.
Ukadike urged Dangote to maintain equal pricing for all marketers, not just preferred companies like NNPCL and MRS. “Whatever yardstick Dangote Refinery is using to sell to NNPCL, MRS, and others, he should also use the same for all marketers,” he said.
He added that petrol consumption is expected to rise as prices fall, due to increased affordability.
“Pricing is a determinant factor in terms of petroleum consumption,” he noted.
