Labour Party’s caretaker chair, Senator Nenadi Usman, has accused the APC of undermining democracy by using intimidation, state institutions, and judicial manipulation to weaken opposition parties since 2023.

The Chairman of the National Caretaker Committee of the Labour Party, Senator Nenadi Usman, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of deliberately destabilising opposition parties and weakening democratic institutions in Nigeria.

Speaking through her Senior Special Adviser on Media, Ken Eluma Asogwa, at the ADC Global Award and Dinner Night in Abuja, Usman alleged that the APC has used tactics including harassment, intimidation, and judicial manipulation to co-opt or silence opposition voices.

“Since the emergence of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the ruling party, there has been a deliberate and relentless campaign to undermine the opposition,” she said.

She urged opposition parties to unite and resist the ruling party’s attempts at domination, warning that internal weaknesses have also made them vulnerable.

“No amount of external sabotage can succeed if there is no internal decay,” she added, calling for visionary leadership, unity, and a stronger commitment to democratic values in the face of growing authoritarian tendencies.
