Saudi Arabia’s interior ministry has announced a strict ban on photography, video recording, and political or sectarian displays at all major Hajj locations, including Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah, Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the ministry stressed that such actions risk disrupting the sacred and unified spirit of the pilgrimage.
“Pilgrims are strongly encouraged to adhere to the regulations and cooperate fully with authorities to ensure that Hajj 2025 is conducted in a peaceful, orderly, and spiritually enriching environment,” it stated.
Officials underscored that Hajj is a time for worship and humility, and any behavior that contradicts its spiritual essence will not be tolerated.
“Security personnel will be deployed throughout the pilgrimage period to monitor and enforce these regulations,” the ministry warned.
The directive comes as millions prepare to converge in Saudi Arabia for one of Islam’s most sacred religious obligations.
Failure to comply may lead to penalties or removal from the holy sites.
