Cesc Fabregas has expressed his commitment to Como’s long-term vision despite being linked with Inter Milan, saying he is focused on building lasting success with the Serie A side.
Cesc Fabregas has reaffirmed his commitment to Como, dismissing reports linking him with Inter Milan by backing the club’s “long-term project.”
Fabregas, who guided Serie A newcomers Como to a 10th-place finish in their first top-flight season in 21 years, has been praised for his managerial debut—drawing interest from Inter following Simone Inzaghi’s departure.
“I really believe in the Como project,” Fabregas said at the SXSW event in London, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport. “I started with this club because I was thinking about a long-term project. I don’t want to finish my career at a club where there’s a project for one or two years and then everything ends.”
A World Cup and Champions League winner, Fabregas joined Como as a player in 2022 and became head coach after retiring.
“We’ve become a really good team together, in a small town, in a small club but with big, very big ambitions for the future,” he added.
Meanwhile, Inter have signed Croatia’s Petar Sucic from Dinamo Zagreb.
