Lagos judiciary makes e-affidavits mandatory, ends manual processing

The new policy took effect on June 1 following a directive from the Honourable Chief Judge of Lagos State.

The Lagos State Judiciary has fully transitioned to electronic affidavits, mandating all non-litigation declarations (name changes, age declarations, SIM loss) to be processed exclusively via the Lagos Comis Platform since June 1. The directive, issued by Chief Judge Kazeem Alogba, aims to digitize and streamline affidavit services, excluding court litigation documents.

“All General Affidavits shall be generated exclusively through Lagos Comis,” stated Deputy Chief Registrar Rasaq Davies in the May 23 memo. The platform (lagoscomis.lagosjudiciary.gov.ng) provides usage guidelines for the new system.
