Russia has offered political asylum to billionaire Elon Musk amid his growing feud with U.S. President Donald Trump.

Dmitry Novikov, a senior member of Russia’s State Duma, told state media TASS that while Musk likely wouldn’t seek it, Russia “could provide it” if needed.

The offer follows a public breakdown in relations between Musk and Trump, once allies. The conflict escalated after Trump revoked federal mandates favoring electric vehicles, calling Musk “crazy” in a Truth Social post. In response, Musk accused Trump of being named in the sealed Epstein files, posting: “The truth will come out.”

Tensions were already high between the U.S. and Russia, with stalled ceasefire talks in Ukraine. While the White House dismissed Musk’s claims, calling them “an unfortunate episode,” the fallout has attracted global attention.

Musk has hinted at forming a new political party, while Trump blames him for policy backlash. Musk has not provided evidence for his Epstein claim.

The situation remains volatile.
