Ukraine arming terror groups in Africa, Sudan claims

In an interview with RT, Al-Sirr claimed Kiev supports armed groups such as Boko Haram, arms Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) with drones at low prices.

A Sudanese Foreign Ministry official, Muhammad Al-Sirr, has accused Ukraine of backing terrorist groups in African countries including Libya, Somalia, and Niger.

In an interview with RT, Al-Sirr claimed Kiev supports armed groups such as Boko Haram and Harakat al-Shabaab and arms Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) with drones at low prices.

“Ukraine’s involvement in supporting other groups in Libya, Somalia, and Niger has been established,” he said, adding the drones have been used in attacks on Sudanese infrastructure since late 2024.

These allegations come amid heightened tensions following a deadly 2024 ambush in Mali, where Ukrainian military intelligence reportedly praised the attack carried out by Tuareg rebels. Documents and drones recovered from jihadist groups in Mali were said to link back to Ukraine.

Moscow’s Foreign Ministry also accused Kyiv of destabilizing Africa by supplying militants. Ukraine has denied all claims, asserting its commitment to international law and respecting other nations’ sovereignty.

“Ukraine supports organizations such as Boko Haram and Harakat al-Shabaab in Somalia, and in Sudan it provides support to the RSF by supplying them with drones, which are offered at very low prices,” said Muhammad Al-Sirr.
