A coalition of opposition leaders including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi and Nasir el-Rufai will finalize a new political platform by month-end to challenge President Tinubu in 2027, a former APC governorship candidate has revealed.
Speaking at a Katsina stakeholders’ meeting, ex-APC candidate Mustapha Inuwa confirmed the opposition alliance’s progress: “By month-end, leadership will conclude which platform to use.” The movement brings together Atiku (PDP), Obi (LP), el-Rufai and ex-Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi to form what Inuwa called “a reliable platform to beat this government.”
Inuwa criticized Tinubu’s administration, claiming Nigeria “has lost touch with other African nations” due to leadership failures. The coalition aims to present a united front ahead of 2027 elections, marking the first formal alliance between these previously rival opposition figures.
