Air Peace has condemned a Nigerian politician for allegedly assaulting staff and disrupting operations at Lagos airport after missing his flight to Abuja.
Air Peace has accused a prominent Nigerian politician of assaulting its staff and disrupting operations at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed Airport after missing a 6:30 a.m. flight to Abuja. In a statement by spokesperson Osifo-Whiskey Efe, the airline said the incident occurred around 6:10 a.m. on Wednesday at Terminal 1. The unnamed politician, who arrived late, reportedly became aggressive upon learning boarding had closed.
“He then forcibly manned the access gate, blocking other passengers from entering the terminal,” Air Peace said. The airline activated an emergency plan to reroute affected passengers.
“No passenger, regardless of status or title, has the right to obstruct operations or endanger the safety and comfort of others,” the statement added.
