Plans are underway for “Plateau Express 3.0,” Jos Airport upgrades, and railway enhancements.
Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, on Thursday unveiled 15 new metro buses to mark Democracy Day, expanding the state’s public transport fleet to 30. Speaking at the event, he said the Plateau Express Service, once defunct, has been revived to improve mobility and alleviate post-subsidy hardship.
“The best way to bring subsidies directly back to the people was through the transport sector,” he said.
He also commissioned several projects, including hospital facilities, roads, and infrastructure across Jos. Mutfwang praised the service’s leadership and introduced the first female bus driver, celebrating youth and gender empowerment.
“These projects reflect the administration’s drive toward infrastructural renewal,” he stated, adding that the new buses were brand-new, funded solely from state allocations.
