Spurs announced the Dane as their new head coach on a three-year deal on Thursday, as a replacement for the sacked Ange Postecoglou.
Thomas Frank acknowledged the emotional weight of leaving Brentford after being officially appointed as Tottenham Hotspur’s new head coach on a three-year deal. The 51-year-old Dane, tasked with reviving Spurs’ Premier League ambitions following Ange Postecoglou’s sacking, described the move as bittersweet. In a farewell message published on Brentford’s website, Frank stated: “The time has come for me to move on. But, even as I leave, I know I have left a big piece of my heart at Brentford, not just at the football club but with the community and, of course, the incredible and loyal supporters.”
Frank departs after a transformative seven-year tenure at Brentford, where he won 136 of his 317 matches in charge. His crowning achievement came in 2021 when he guided the club into the Premier League for the first time, establishing them as a competitive top-flight side. His tactical acumen and player development earned widespread respect, making his appointment by Tottenham a strategic move to restore stability after a turbulent season.
