According to eyewitnesses, rather than accept responsibility for his lateness, the senator blocked the terminal’s entrance, creating a gridlock that left dozens of passengers stranded and delayed.
Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North, has come under scrutiny after SaharaReporters revealed he never checked in online for his missed Air Peace flight, despite publicly claiming otherwise. The former Edo State governor was recently involved in a scene at a Lagos airport terminal, where eyewitnesses said he blocked access to the departure gate, causing delays for other passengers.
Airport sources confirmed that Oshiomhole refused to move despite pleas from the terminal manager, leaving dozens of travellers stranded. His actions were reportedly triggered by being denied boarding on a 6:30 a.m. flight, which he arrived for shortly after 6:00 a.m.
At a press briefing, Oshiomhole insisted he had checked in online and was merely defending fellow passengers he said were treated unfairly. However, SaharaReporters’ check using his ticket reference on Air Peace’s website contradicted his claim, showing no record of an online check-in ahead of the flight’s scheduled departure.
