A 48-year-old woman is accused of chopping off her husband’s genitals, strangling him with her bare hands and decapitating him.
A Ukrainian woman has been charged with murder after allegedly killing and mutilating her husband following years of reported domestic abuse. The 48-year-old, identified as Maria, is accused of strangling her husband Oleksandr upon his return from work on August 23, 2019. Authorities say she then decapitated him with an axe and fed his genitals to their pet dogs.
“She was suffering domestic violence for ages and murdered her husband to put an end to it,” police reported.
Maria was seen in the street covered in blood by neighbor Nadezhda Opanasiuk. “She said, ‘I am in trouble. I’ve killed my husband,’” Opanasiuk told local media. “I asked her, ‘Where’s his head?’ and she replied, ‘There, in the sack.’”
Officers arrived shortly after being alerted by neighbors. “The suspect confessed in full at the scene,” confirmed police spokesman Vadim Artiukhovich. Maria was arrested and charged with murder. An investigation is ongoing.
