“Fanning the flames, pouring oil, making threats… will only intensify and widen the conflict,” said Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun.

BEIJING — Chinese President Xi Jinping said Tuesday he was “deeply worried” by Israel’s recent military campaign against Iran, warning that the growing hostilities in the Middle East risk spiraling into a wider regional crisis.

China also criticised U.S. ex-president Donald Trump for “pouring oil” on the conflict, after he called for mass evacuation of Tehran via his Truth Social platform.

“Fanning the flames, pouring oil, making threats… will only intensify and widen the conflict,” said Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun.

Xi, speaking in Kazakhstan alongside Uzbekistan’s president, urged all parties to de-escalate. “We oppose any act that infringes upon the sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of other countries,” Xi stated.

Meanwhile, Chinese embassies in Iran and Israel advised citizens to leave both countries immediately, citing rising civilian casualties and growing threats to infrastructure.

Possible exit routes through Turkey, Jordan, and Armenia were suggested.
