President Tinubu has ordered swift arrests following the deadly attack in Benue State, urging leaders to unite against violence.
President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday directed security chiefs to arrest the perpetrators of Friday’s massacre in Yelewata, Guma LGA of Benue State.
“Christopher… We need to get our ears to the ground. Let’s get those criminals. Let’s get them out,” Tinubu told Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Christopher Musa during a town hall in Makurdi.
The president, addressing Governor Hyacinth Alia, said, “Your political enemies don’t want you to succeed… Are you just realising that?”
He urged regional leaders to collaborate for peace, amid renewed violence by armed herdsmen that has left over 100 people dead in recent weeks.
