Tor Tiv V, James Ayatse, has told President Tinubu the killings in Benue are not clashes but a deliberate, genocidal campaign.

The Tor Tiv V, James Ayatse, has told President Bola Tinubu that the killings in Benue State are not herder-farmer clashes but a coordinated land-grabbing campaign.

Speaking during a meeting with Tinubu and Benue stakeholders on Wednesday, Ayatse said the violence had been misrepresented.

“Your Excellency, it’s not herders-farmers clashes, it’s not communal clashes, it’s not reprisal attacks or skirmishes,” he said.

He described the attacks as a “calculated, well-planned, full-scale genocidal invasion and land-grabbing campaign.”

Ayatse warned that “wrong diagnosis will always lead to wrong treatment,” insisting the crisis is “far more sinister” than assumed.
