Utoo alleged that the militias used military tactics and operated in broad daylight, killing residents and taking over villages.
A Nigerian lawyer, Franc Utoo, has accused soldiers from Giza in Nasarawa State of training and leading Fulani militias in deadly attacks on Tiv communities in Benue and Nasarawa.

In an interview with BusinessDay, Utoo alleged that the militias used military tactics and operated in broad daylight, killing residents and taking over villages.
“They arrested one who uttered all this, made this confession. He said some of the soldiers from Giza trained them in Fulani stuff. And they joined them. They command the whole thing,” Utoo said.
He added that over 100 motorcycles were used in the attacks and Fulani families have now settled in Tiv homes. Utoo also criticized security agencies for ignoring intelligence reports.
“They hold meetings openly with their AK-47s,” he said, naming Giza and Kadorko.
He further alleged bias by officials, saying, “The Sultan reacted when 11 hunters died in Edo. Now over 200 have died, and no one speaks.”
