More than 100 public figures, including Dame Judi Dench, Malala Yousafzai and Stanley Tucci, have signed a renewed letter urging UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to “end the UK’s complicity” in the Gaza conflict.

Organised by refugee charity Choose Love, the letter calls for the immediate suspension of UK arms sales and licences to Israel, citing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Sky News revealed the new signatories, which now include Florence Pugh, Ncuti Gatwa, Fearne Cotton, and musician Paul Weller.

The letter reads: “Every moment this continues, is another moment children die on our watch… The children of Gaza cannot wait another minute.”

It adds: “Violence stamped with UK inaction — flown with parts shipped from British factories — could be obliterating families in seconds.”

Previous signatories include Dua Lipa, Gary Lineker, and Benedict Cumberbatch, who also took part in a vigil outside Parliament reading names of children killed in Gaza.

Choose Love co-founder Josie Naughton said: “It took us 18 hours to read the 15,613 names of children known to be killed. Every one of them deserved better.”

Despite government statements opposing Israeli military expansion, UK export data shows £127.6m worth of military equipment was approved for Israel from October to December 2024.

A government spokesperson said: “We urge all parties to urgently agree a ceasefire agreement and work towards a permanent and sustainable peace.”
