Alao-Akala’s daughter seeks court ruling for DNA test to confirm paternity of seven siblings in inheritance case.

Oluwatoyin Alao-Aderinto, first daughter of the late Oyo State Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, has asked an Oyo High Court to order a DNA test to confirm the paternity of seven individuals claiming to be his children.

In suit I/443/2024, she is also seeking a court-approved exhumation of her father’s body to facilitate the test.

The motion names six others, including Olamiju Alao-Akala, a House of Representatives member, as test subjects. Alao-Aderinto requested that the DNA results be submitted under seal and only unsealed in court.

She also wants the court to declare a letter of administration obtained by the late governor’s widow, Kemi Alao-Akala, and Olamide Alabi, null and void.

Alao-Aderinto accused the duo of mismanaging the estate and excluding other heirs.

The estate includes properties in Nigeria, Ghana, the UK, and the U.S., along with luxury assets and multiple bank accounts.

Alao-Akala died on January 12, 2022, at 71, in Ogbomoso.
