“People know”: Trump lists peace efforts, laments no Nobel Prize
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has again argued he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize, citing his role in mediating conflicts in the Middle East, South Asia, and Eastern Europe. In a Truth Social post on Friday, Trump listed what he called his diplomatic achievements, including preventing war between India and Pakistan, Serbia and Kosovo, and facilitating the Abraham Accords.
“I won’t get a Nobel Peace Prize… but the people know, and that’s all that matters to me!” Trump wrote.
He also mentioned efforts related to Egypt and Ethiopia’s Nile dam dispute, adding that future peace between Russia and Ukraine or Israel and Iran would still not earn him recognition.
Trump’s comments followed Pakistan’s announcement that it intends to nominate him for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, citing his role in de-escalating tensions with India.
“If you look — the Congo, or Serbia, Kosovo — you could say a lot of them,” Trump told reporters earlier on Friday.
