U.S. forces struck three Iranian nuclear sites within 25 minutes using decoys
U.S. forces struck three Iranian nuclear sites within 25 minutes using decoys, stealth bombers, and Massive Ordnance Penetrators (MOPs), officials confirmed Sunday. “Iran’s nuclear ambitions have been obliterated,” said Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. General Dan Caine explained that most aircraft initially flew toward Iran before diverting as a decoy. Seven B-2 bombers, under radio silence, continued with escort jets and deployed 75 precision-guided weapons. Cyberattacks, fighter jet strikes, and 24 Tomahawk missiles from a submarine also supported the mission.
Targets included Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear facilities. “All of the precision munitions struck what they wanted to strike,” Hegseth said. No Iranians were targeted. He emphasized the U.S. preference for diplomacy, but said Trump determined talks had stalled. Hegseth warned Iran against retaliating, suggesting U.S. operations might be concluded. Caine noted damage assessments were ongoing. Initial strikes occurred around 1:45 a.m. Iran time, using multiple MOP bombs.
