TEHRAN – Yemen has formally declared its participation in the ongoing war against Israel and the United States, aligning itself with Iran in response to escalating hostilities that began with Israeli strikes on Iranian soil on June 13 and intensified with U.S. airstrikes on Sunday.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, confirmed the decision on his personal social media page, stating: “Yemen is officially entering the war (against the United States and Israel). Keep your ships away from our territorial waters.”
The announcement follows a military statement issued Saturday, in which the Yemeni Armed Forces condemned Israeli operations across Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and other Arab and Islamic nations. The statement accused Israel of attempting to destabilize the region with U.S. support.
