“I’ve run out of patience… The pitches aren’t great at all,” said Bellingham. “It’s tough on the knees… Hopefully it’s something someone will look at.”
Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has criticised FIFA over poor pitch conditions at the Club World Cup, likening them to “NBA courts full of holes.”
After PSG’s 2-0 win over Seattle Sounders at Lumen Field, Enrique said, “What I really care about is the state of the field of play… The ball bounces almost like if it were jumping around like a rabbit.”
Despite topping Group B to set up a last-16 clash with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami, Enrique warned the subpar surfaces disrupt his team’s playing style. “It’s very different from European pitches,” he said, highlighting water retention issues at the converted turf ground.
Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham echoed the concerns after scoring in a 3-1 win over Pachuca. “The pitches aren’t great at all… It’s tough on the knees,” he said.
Bellingham, nearing the end of a grueling 61-game season, added: “I’ve run out of patience… Hopefully someone will look at it going into next year.”
