Mosquito drones sneak into homes…

China has unveiled a mosquito-sized drone designed for espionage and covert operations, sparking global concern over its potential misuse.

The drone, resembling a real mosquito with two yellow wings, a thin black body, and wiry legs, was showcased in a video released by Chinese state media.

According to experts, the device’s miniature size allows it to quietly infiltrate homes, gather private information, and monitor conversations. “These tiny devices could even be exploited by criminals trying to gain access to people’s passwords,” said Timothy Heath, a senior U.S. defense researcher.

Futurist Tracey Follows warned, “In time, one expects a drone to have the situational awareness to carry out an attack autonomously… you can then attack them with a virus, for example.”

She cautioned that such technology could enable rogue nations like Russia to conduct untraceable assassinations. Analysts say the development echoes dystopian themes from sci-fi shows like Black Mirror.
