The Lagos State Building Control Agency has denied demolishing a property linked to Peter Obi’s brother, urging the LP candidate to seek redress through the police.

The Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) has denied responsibility for the alleged demolition of a property owned by the brother of Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in Lagos.

Reacting to Obi’s criticism that described Nigeria as a “lawless country,” LASBCA spokesperson Adu Ademuyiwa stated, “It’s not my agency (LASBCA) that is responsible for that.”

Meanwhile, Wale Ajetunmobi, media aide to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, advised Obi to formally report the incident to the police. “Peter Obi should report the matter to the police. They’ll help him find the people who ordered the building’s demolition,” he said.

Ajetunmobi also exonerated the state’s Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, stressing the commissioner had no role in issuing court orders.

“Whatever game Peter Obi wants to play, first things first – who is responsible for the demolition has to be well stated,” he added.
