Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has confirmed he will contest Nigeria’s 2027 election, pledging to deliver stability, security, and economic revival.

Speaking in an X Space session Sunday, Obi declared: “If there is any form of agreement that will restrict me to four years in office, I will comply… and leave office by 28th May, 2031.”

Obi denied any talks about a joint ticket with Atiku Abubakar, insisting any coalition must address killings in Benue, Zamfara, and Nigeria’s economic collapse.

“If the coalition is not about stopping the killings… Count me out,” he said.

He promised to restore stability within two years and outlined first-100-day priorities: security, education, poverty eradication, and anti-corruption.

“My family will not be involved in corruption. Funds to be channelled into key critical sectors,” Obi vowed.

Criticising President Tinubu’s foreign trips, he said: “People are dying… our leaders are commissioning Bus Stops and holidaying.”

Obi also backed power rotation and internal party reforms: “My Presidency will ensure there is a strong opposition… No defection of elected officials.”

“Nobody abroad takes you seriously if you don’t have a stable government,” he added, urging Nigerians to support his vision for change.
