Emmanuel Myam, 25, known as Emmi Wuks, has triggered national debate after beginning a bicycle journey from Nigeria to the United States. The Benue State native previously cycled from Makurdi to Lagos in 2022 to meet singer Davido, though he never met the artist.
His latest journey, launched Monday from Lagos State University of Education, aims to raise awareness for vulnerable children and internally displaced persons in Benue. “This is more than a journey—it’s a mission of hope, courage, and resilience,” Wuks stated.
Reactions have been polarizing. KengKeng Ati criticized the move, saying, “He should be bundled to the nearest psychiatric hospital.” Another, Peter Abugu, petitioned police to stop what he called a “suicidal mission.”
Conversely, lawyer Ibn Madaki urged tolerance: “Let us not mock dreamers like Emmi Wuks.” Supporter Iveren Jude-Iorver added, “My prayers are with you. History is about to be made.”
