Diddy was acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking charges but found guilty of two prostitution-related counts. He may walk free today.
Sean “Diddy” Combs could walk free today after a jury acquitted him of the most serious charges in his high-profile trial. The jury found Combs not guilty of racketeering conspiracy and two counts of sex trafficking — charges that carried potential life sentences.
He was convicted on two lesser counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, each carrying up to 10 years but no minimum sentence. After the verdict, Combs pumped his fist, embraced his family, and mouthed “Thank you” to the jury.
“Mr. Combs has been given his life by this jury,” said lead defense attorney Marc Agnifilo, who urged Judge Arun Subramanian to release Combs on a $1 million bond with strict conditions.
Lead U.S. Attorney Maurene Comey opposed the motion, arguing Combs must remain detained until proven not to be a flight risk.
Combs told his family, “I’ll be home soon,” as U.S. Marshals escorted him out. Supporters outside the courthouse celebrated with shouts — and baby oil.
