The denial follows ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s alignment with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), promoted as a coalition platform for opposition parties.
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have dismissed speculation that he and his supporters plan to leave the party or join any coalition before the 2027 general elections.
The denial follows ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s alignment with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), promoted as a coalition platform for opposition parties.
Osun PDP Chairman, Sunday Bisi, told The Nation on Wednesday: “We (Adeleke and his supporters) remain with PDP. We are in PDP, we are not going anywhere. I can assure you, we are not going anywhere.”
Responding to Atiku’s claim that PDP is too weak to win future polls, Bisi added: “I wouldn’t agree with him. This will not be the first time Atiku will leave the PDP—and PDP still won in his absence.”
Bisi noted that coalitions are normal in democracy but insisted the Osun PDP remains united under Adeleke’s leadership.
