Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has denied reports claiming he allocated nearly 3,822 hectares of land, valued at $6.45 billion, to his two sons
Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has denied reports claiming he allocated nearly 3,822 hectares of land, valued at $6.45 billion, to his two sons through JOAQ Farms and Estates Limited.
Speaking during a press briefing in Abuja, Wike dismissed the allegations involving land in Maitama and Asokoro as unfounded. “Assuming, though not conceding, my children applied for land. Are they not citizens? Are they Ghanaians? Even if they applied, are they not entitled because I’m minister?” he said.
He accused an unnamed individual from Adamawa State of launching a smear campaign against him, questioning the plausibility of such vast land availability. “Where in Maitama and Asokoro can you find 2,000 hectares? Bring the documents, bring empirical evidence,” Wike challenged.
The minister emphasized that any Nigerian, including his children, has the right to apply for land, provided due process is followed.
