Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has debunked rumours suggesting a possible defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement posted on X, the governor reaffirmed his commitment to the PDP, describing himself as a loyal member and leader of the party in Osun.
“Over the last few hours, I have been inundated with calls regarding rumours of a possible defection,” he wrote. “I want to assure the good people of Osun State and Nigerians at large; I remain a loyal member and the leader of the People’s Democratic Party in Osun State.”
The statement comes in the wake of his recent visits to President Bola Tinubu in Lagos and Abuja, which had fuelled speculation.
Adeleke urged the public to ignore the reports, insisting his focus remains on governance. “My focus remains on delivering good governance and fulfilling our 5-point agenda for Osun people,” he added.
