Two American veterans working with the U.S.- and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) were injured in a grenade attack while distributing food to Palestinians.

The veterans, described by the group as “highly decorated,” are in stable condition.

GHF blamed Hamas for the attack, stating on X, “Today’s attack tragically affirms those warnings,” referring to earlier threats made against its workers. The organization said the grenades, filled with ball bearings, were of Iranian origin and commonly used by Hamas.

Executive Chairman Rev. Johnnie Moore criticized international silence, writing, “At what point is allowing Hamas to terrorize aid workers and run a propaganda campaign through Western media no longer acceptable?”

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee condemned the incident: “With Hamas no good deed goes unpunished.”

The IDF confirmed safe evacuation efforts and accused terrorist groups in Gaza of sabotaging aid deliveries.

GHF said Hamas recently placed bounties on its American and Palestinian staff. Since May, GHF has delivered 60 million meals in Gaza despite the threats.
