Dr. Christina Propst was fired after a viral Facebook post appeared to blame Trump-supporting flood victims for the deadly disaster.
A Houston pediatrician, Dr. Christina B. Propst, has been fired over a controversial social media post that appeared to mock victims of the devastating Texas floods as Trump supporters who got “what they voted for.”
“May all visitors, children, non-MAGA voters and pets be safe and dry,” she wrote in the since-deleted Facebook post, adding: “Kerr County MAGA voted to gut FEMA. They deny climate change. May they get what they voted for. Bless their hearts.”
Propst’s employer, Blue Fish Pediatrics, initially suspended her before announcing she had been terminated. “That post does not reflect the values, standards, or mission of Blue Fish Pediatrics,” the company said.
The Texas Medical Board condemned the politicization of tragedy, but has not confirmed a formal investigation.
Propst’s online profiles were later removed, and Memorial Hermann Health System clarified she was not employed by them.
At least 82 people, including 27 campers and counselors, died in the flood that ravaged Kerr County.
