The Presidency has predicted the imminent collapse of the African Democratic Congress (ADC)-led opposition coalition, citing a lack of ideology and viable policy alternatives. Presidential adviser on policy communication, Daniel Bwala, made the claim on Channels Television’s Politics Today, describing the coalition as “internally displaced politicians” without vision.
Bwala said, “They have not brought a single alternative policy to the table. All they do is criticise and issue press statements.”
He referenced Labour Party’s 2023 vice-presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, who earlier warned that internal struggles over candidacy could fracture the coalition. Bwala added, “After one month… in the next six months, that coalition will not even be a conversation. They will scatter.”
He insisted that opposition leaders have failed to counter the Tinubu administration’s policies with any substance. “They lack vision and have not shown Nigerians they truly care,” he said, dismissing the group’s potential as a credible political threat.
