Governor Seyi Makinde says the PDP remains unshaken by coalition talks and reaffirmed the South-West caucus’ loyalty to the party and its national leadership.

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde says the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is not threatened by coalition talks ahead of the 2027 elections. Speaking after the South-West PDP Caucus meeting in Ibadan on Friday, Makinde described the party as “an institution” and affirmed its unity in the region.

“We are together, and the coalition is not a threat,” he said. “We will stay and fix our house as responsible leaders.”

Makinde questioned the credibility of those forming coalitions and reiterated PDP’s commitment to internal reforms and unity.

A communiqué from the meeting—attended by Deputy Governor Kola Adewusi (representing Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke) and other South-West leaders—reaffirmed loyalty to the party and support for the National Working Committee.

The Caucus condemned the FG’s withholding of Osun’s local government allocation and criticized worsening insecurity and economic hardship under APC rule. It also vowed to secure victories in upcoming elections and declared that 2027 would be a contest between Nigerians and the APC.
