A communique stated the party “resolved to follow Governor Adeleke wherever he goes” while recognising that he is “still consulting on next lines of action.”
The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has pledged total loyalty to Governor Ademola Adeleke, declaring it will follow him to any political party of his choice amid persistent defection rumours.
At a caucus meeting at the Government House on Saturday, attended by federal and state lawmakers and other stakeholders, the PDP leadership passed a vote of confidence in Adeleke. Party spokesman Oladele Rasheed said:
“Osun PDP leadership caucus passed a vote of confidence in Governor Ademola Adeleke, unanimously supporting any decision the Governor takes on the growing rumour of defection to another political party.”
The meeting featured National and State Assembly members, the State Executive Council, party executives, elders, ALGON leadership, and former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
Adeleke, who has denied plans to dump the PDP, was absent from the recent South West PDP caucus meeting in Ibadan, fueling speculation after he visited President Bola Tinubu in Lagos during Eid with his family, including Davido.
The caucus urged Adeleke to continue consultations. A communique stated the party “resolved to follow Governor Adeleke wherever he goes” while recognising that he is “still consulting on next lines of action.”
