The United States Government has issued a stern warning to Nigerian travellers against overstaying their authorised period of stay, noting that such violations could result in deportation and a permanent travel ban from entering the country.
Soldiers prevent traditionalists from disrupting Awujale’s Islamic burial in Ijebu Ode
Soldiers on Monday barred traditionalists, believed to be Osugbo cult members, from disrupting the Muslim funeral of the late Awujale of Ijebu land, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, who died on Sunday at 91.
The tension arose when the traditionalists arrived at the royal residence in Ijebu Ode seeking to assert control over the burial. Eyewitnesses said soldiers swiftly took charge, escorting them out to ensure the Islamic rites proceeded without incident.
Tinubu To Receive Buhari’s Body In Katsina Today
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will today in Daura, Katsina State, receive the body of former President Muhammadu Buhari. Vice President Kashim Shettima and family members are expected to fly the body to Katsina Airport at noon, from where it will be taken by chopper to Daura for burial.
