Trump alleged the fraud began with a refinance in 2009 and continued through 2020 when the Maryland property was reclassified as a second home.
Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday accused Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) of mortgage fraud, claiming Fannie Mae’s Financial Crimes Division uncovered a “sustained pattern” of wrongdoing.
“I have always suspected Shifty Adam Schiff was a scam artist,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “Adam Schiff said that his primary residence was in MARYLAND to get a cheaper mortgage and rip off America, when he must LIVE in CALIFORNIA because he was a Congressman from CALIFORNIA.”
Trump alleged the fraud began with a refinance in 2009 and continued through 2020 when the Maryland property was reclassified as a second home.
Schiff, who previously called it a filing error repaid to Maryland, has faced scrutiny over claiming primary residence exemptions in both states.
The Gateway Pundit reported that Schiff refinanced the Maryland home multiple times while voting in California.
“Mortgage Fraud is very serious, and CROOKED Adam Schiff needs to be brought to justice,” Trump wrote.
