She was rushed to the Mother and Child Centre in Betim, Belo Horizonte, after experiencing severe stomach cramps 32 weeks into her pregnancy. Despite undergoing an emergency C-section, she died from a brain hemorrhage.
The girl’s uncle stated that her death was “because of the pregnancy” and claimed that the family knows who the alleged perpetrator is. The newborn baby survived, and the city hall has offered counseling to the family. An investigation is ongoing.
