“They are recruiting people around Peter Obi to convince him he can’t do it,” he claimed. “He must not accept it.”
Former ADC presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu, has warned Peter Obi against running as Atiku Abubakar’s vice-presidential candidate in 2027, calling such a move “unjust and politically immoral.”
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Kachikwu said, “It is morally right for anybody from a major party running for 2027 to be from the South. It is equitable.”
He accused Atiku of manipulating political alliances and seeking to hijack the ADC structure through bribery, alleging that state chairmen were being offered ₦20 million to resign.
“They are recruiting people around Peter Obi to convince him he can’t do it,” he claimed. “He must not accept it.”
Kachikwu said Obi had the credentials to win independently and urged Atiku to publicly support southern presidency if he truly values equity.
“The ADC is not for sale and is not an old people’s home,” Kachikwu said, adding that power must shift for the sake of justice and national unity.
