Okpebholo said Obi’s security in Edo is not guaranteed if he visits unannounced.

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has warned former Anambra Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, against visiting the state without prior notice.

Speaking in Uromi during the defection of Hon. Marcus Onobun from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Okpebholo said Obi’s security in Edo is not guaranteed if he visits unannounced.

“The man we say he no get shi shi, I am sending a direct message to him. He cannot come to Edo without telling me. A new Sheriff is in town,” Okpebholo stated. “His security cannot be guaranteed. We are serious about it. Whatever that happens to him when he comes to Edo State, he will take it.”

Okpebholo cited a previous visit by Obi, during which he donated ₦15 million to a hospital, claiming it was followed by a crisis that led to the deaths of three persons.

Meanwhile, Onobun said he was “back home to the APC,” after alleging earlier pressure to defect.

Obi had recently visited St. Philomena Hospital in Benin City, donating ₦15 million.
