U.S. tech firm Astronomer has placed its CEO Andy Byron on leave after a video showing a man and woman embracing at a Coldplay concert went viral, sparking speculation about an alleged workplace affair.

The clip, filmed at a Boston show and broadcast on the venue’s big screen, shows the pair embracing before hiding their faces. Coldplay’s Chris Martin joked onstage: “Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy.”

Online users soon identified the man as Byron and the woman as Kristin Cabot, Astronomer’s Chief People Officer. Neither have confirmed their identities.

Late Friday, Astronomer posted on X: “Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability. The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter.”

The company stressed no other employees were involved in the video. Co-founder Pete DeJoy has been named interim CEO.

Astronomer said Byron has not issued a personal statement and reports claiming otherwise are inaccurate.
