After due consideration, I wish to formally notify you that I have resigned my membership of the PDP
Former Bauchi State Secretary to the Government (SSG) and 2023 PDP governorship candidate, Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party, effective July 21, 2025. In a letter addressed to his ward chairman, Kashim expressed gratitude to party leaders for trusting him with the 2023 governorship ticket and for the opportunity to serve.
Kashim had stepped down from the 2023 governorship race, throwing his support behind Governor Bala Mohammed and worked extensively across Bauchi Local Government Area to secure victory. He resigned as SSG in January 2025 following a directive from Governor Mohammed.
In his resignation letter, he wrote:
“After due consideration, I wish to formally notify you that I have resigned my membership of the PDP and hope to explore other avenues of seeking the mandate of our people to serve them with the same commitment, passion, honesty of purpose, trustworthiness, and above all fear of Allah SWT.”
He did not disclose his next political move but speculation suggests a 2027 governorship bid.
