Two Nigerians, Austin and Ayo, were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Durban, South Africa, on July 9. PUNCH Metro reports that three masked attackers stormed Austin’s office around 8 p.m. and opened fire, killing both men on the spot.
“Austin runs a car business and also sells tyres in Durban. On the day of the incident, his friend Ayo came to visit him at his shop… they shot both of them,” said Fidelis, a friend of the victims.
Eyewitnesses reportedly fled as the gunmen entered. CCTV footage showed Austin being shot at close range while Ayo was shot trying to flee.
“We got to know about the incident a week after it happened… the authorities have yet to fish out the perpetrators,” another source added.
