Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike is facing renewed scrutiny after reportedly allocating prime Abuja lands to his father, siblings, cousins, and close associates. Documents reviewed by Peoples Gazette show Wike approved 33 land grants on July 16, just weeks after an earlier exposé revealed similar allocations to his two sons. “The minister said he was pissed that the media was making an issue… so he decided to expand his inventory of beneficiaries,” a source told the Gazette. Wike’s father, 90-year-old Joshua Wike, and at least 11 other family members were beneficiaries. Insiders allege that Wike bypassed normal procedures and openly bragged about his political influence and protection from prosecution. “No judge in 2025 Nigeria would dare convict him,” an official quoted him as saying. While anti-corruption agencies monitor the situation, presidential action remains stalled. Critics warn that President Tinubu’s inaction could tie him to alleged violations of the constitution.
