Vice-President Shettima says President Tinubu resisted pressure from oil cabals to remove fuel subsidy, describing the move as bold and necessary for economic reform.
<p><p>Vice-President Kashim Shettima has said President Bola Tinubu’s removal of the fuel subsidy was in Nigeria’s best interest, despite stiff opposition from entrenched oil interests. <p>
<p>Speaking during a meeting with NACCIMA executives at the Presidential Villa, Shettima stated: “The oil cabal fought back, but
he refused to budge. He stood his ground because he acted in the best interest of Nigerians.”
He highlighted Tinubu’s economic policies, including the unification of exchange rates and tax reforms, as steps towards rebuilding investor confidence. “Nigeria is ready for business,” he added.
NACCIMA President Jani Ibrahim praised Shettima’s leadership roles in key economic councils and urged deeper engagement with the private sector.
