Yilwatda Pledges Unity, Expansion as APC Chairman
Newly elected National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has vowed to unite and strengthen the party under his leadership.
Yilwatda made the commitment in his acceptance speech at the 14th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.
He stressed the importance of collaboration with party stakeholders across the country, saying, “I will work with everyone to reposition our great party for greater success.”
PDP Sets November Date for Elective Convention in Ibadan
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will hold its elective National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, from Saturday, November 15 to Sunday, November 16, 2025.
This was disclosed in an 11-point communiqué released after the party’s NEC meeting in Abuja on Thursday.
The statement highlighted key resolutions aimed at repositioning the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
Kwankwaso Accuses Tinubu of Neglecting Northern Nigeria
Former NNPP presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration for allegedly neglecting the North.
Speaking at the Kano State Stakeholders’ Dialogue on the 2025 Constitutional Amendment, Kwankwaso said, “The national resources have been concentrated on the South while the North is left behind.”
Kogi Photojournalist’s Murder Suspect Commits Suicide
Ayo Pelumi, the prime suspect in the murder of Kogi photojournalist Ayo Aiyepeku, has reportedly committed suicide.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, shortly after the alleged killing.
Police have yet to issue a formal statement as investigations continue.

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have dismantled several insurgent networks in the North-East, killing numerous terrorists.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, said the operations involved ambushes, raids, and aerial support.
Kangye described the action as “a major success in counterterrorism efforts.”
Gunmen Kill 15 in Plateau Twin Attacks
At least 14 villagers and a mobile police officer were killed in twin attacks by gunmen in Bokkos LGA, Plateau State, on Thursday.
One attack occurred at 4:00 p.m. as residents returned from the market to Mangor village.
Authorities are yet to identify the perpetrators.
Woman Arraigned for ₦34m Customs Job Scam in Lagos
A 59-year-old woman, Rakiyat Musa, has been arraigned at the Igbosere Magistrate’s Court for allegedly impersonating a Customs officer and defrauding victims of ₦34.1 million.
She faces four counts including false pretence, conspiracy, and impersonation.
Magistrate B. I. Amos ordered that she be remanded pending bail application.
