David Mark says the ADC “will make the difference” as the coalition meets northern leaders in Abuja to mobilise against Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Ahead of the 2027 general election, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its coalition partners convened in Abuja on Saturday to rally the North against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Speaking at the 3rd expanded meeting of the National Political Consultative Group (North), held at Continental Hotel, the Protem National Chairman of the ADC, Sen. David Mark, cited insecurity, poverty, and ethno-religious division as key northern challenges.
“The destructive weaponisation of ethnicity and religion we saw in the last election is unacceptable. This is where the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will make the difference. For us, politics is about service and not manipulation,” he said.
Mark urged northern leaders to emulate the values of Ahmadu Bello and Aminu Kano, calling for unity, investment in education, and grassroots policing.
Among attendees were ex-Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai and former SGF Babachir Lawal. A communique from the closed-door meeting is expected to be released later.
